Part Time Math Tutor- Millbrae
About The Position
Think Zone Learning Center is hiring a part-time Math Tutor in Millbrae to support K–8 students through personalized, one-on-one math instruction. Tutors help students understand math concepts, develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, build confidence, and celebrate progress. They track student progress using Think Zone’s curriculum and resources and build positive relationships with students and families. Lesson planning is not required; the center provides the curriculum, materials, training, and support. The role is designed to fit around school schedules and offers 6–12 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours. Tutors typically work 2–4 shifts per week. Available shifts include Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Wednesday and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Saturday availability is strongly preferred. The program dates are June 2, 2026 through June 5, 2027, and pay is $19.00–$20.00 per hour. Think Zone, part of TAL Education Group, provides engaging, personalized math instruction to help K–8 students build strong math foundations. The position offers a supportive team environment and opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and teaching skills, with potential career progression to Lead Tutor, Assistant Manager, and Learning Center Manager.
Requirements
- Have a strong foundation in math.
- Communicate clearly and patiently.
- Be responsible and dependable.
- Enjoy helping others learn and encouraging and motivating younger students.
- Be currently in high school and at least 16 years old, currently in college, or have a high school diploma.
- Be available for 2–4 shifts per week; Saturday availability is strongly preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching or tutoring experience is a plus but is not required.
