About The Position

A High School Math Teacher is committed to students’ academic development, well-being, and safety, as well as the overall success of the school. Teachers receive ongoing, job-embedded professional development to support their personal and professional growth and student success. The role involves planning and delivering standards-aligned math instruction, managing a safe and engaging classroom, using assessment data to guide teaching, and collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and school staff. The teacher also contributes to school-wide programs, policies, and community-building efforts. The position is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment and may involve working with students who present behavioral risks. Occasional minimal guidance is provided, and there are no direct reports.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Education.
Certification or licensure in the appropriate teaching area.
Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status in the teaching assignment.
Experience with coding and computer science.
Experience with personalized student advising and motivation skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare instructional lesson plans for math courses aligned to applicable state standards.
Implement the Instructional Framework with fidelity and real-world relevance, and teach subjects according to the school’s course of study or as assigned.
Manage the day-to-day work of the class and ensure pupils’ safety and welfare during on-site and off-site activities.
Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment.
Maintain accurate student records, including grade books, report cards, lesson plans, attendance, and behavior or discipline records.
Use data and assessment to drive instruction.
Maintain confidentiality concerning student information and professional matters.
Work with staff to improve student learning and achievement; collaborate with colleagues and develop positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
Use advanced classroom management techniques and maintain good order and discipline while safeguarding pupils’ health and safety.
Use company-provided computers and other technology to support student learning; adapt and enrich the curriculum using multiple strategies and online tools.
Develop learning experiences that engage students and teach them to apply knowledge to real-world problems.
Provide opportunities for student participation in activities outside the classroom, including student organizations, physical activities, and service learning.
Promote high achievement for all students and an orderly, motivational, aspirational school culture and community.
Set clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
Organize and manage groups or individual pupils, differentiating instruction to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
Ensure effective use of classroom support staff, including parent helpers.
Participate in required meetings and contribute as a whole-school team member to decisions about policies, programs of study, teaching materials, resources, teaching methods, and pastoral arrangements.
