Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is seeking a passionate, friendly, and enthusiastic Math Instructor to help students learn math and build confidence. Instructors are trained to provide effective, concise instruction using Mathnasium’s methods and materials. The role focuses on creating a welcoming, engaging, positive, and productive learning environment for students and families, delivering individualized instruction in a group setting, and supporting students’ learning and progress. Instruction may be provided in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery. The position also involves communicating with the Center Manager and staff, performing operational tasks as needed, and helping maintain a safe, professional learning environment. This is an in-person, part-time position with two shifts per week; applicants must be available at least three days a week from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
- Availability at least three days a week from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Must take a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Teach or tutor in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Collaborate with team members to provide individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff about student progress.
- Perform operational functions as required.
