Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Math Instructors help create a welcoming and productive environment for students and families and are trained to provide effective, concise math instruction using the Mathnasium Method™. The role involves motivating students, supporting their confidence and engagement, tracking their progress, communicating with the Center Manager and staff, and performing operational functions as required. Instruction may be delivered in person, online, or through a hybrid format. This is an in-person, part-time position with two shifts per week. The posting lists compensation of $16.90–$18.50 per hour and availability at least three days a week during the stated scheduling windows. Sunday availability is preferred. Applicants must take a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Requirements
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
- Availability at least three days a week during the stated scheduling windows: Monday–Thursday, 3 PM–7 PM, and Sunday, 12 PM–4 PM.
- Complete a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Responsibilities
- Teach and tutor students in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
- Motivate and inspire students by creating an engaging, positive, and productive learning environment.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff to evaluate and track student progress.
- Perform operational functions as required.
