About The Position

Mathnasium of South Elgin is seeking Math Instructor / Tutors to teach children in grades K–12 using the Mathnasium Method™. Instructors provide individualized instruction in a group setting and may teach in-center, online, or through a hybrid delivery model. The role includes assessing students’ learning progress and engagement, learning to use digital educational materials and processes, and helping maintain a safe, professional learning environment. The center describes its workplace as fun, supportive, and encouraging, and provides continuous training and instructional materials. The position offers consistent but flexible part-time hours after school and on weekends. Compensation is $14.00–$18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Passion for math and working with students.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Eagerness to learn and be trained.
Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
Take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency.
Provide work authorization.
Pass a background check.

Responsibilities
