About The Position

Mathnasium is a neighborhood math-only learning center that provides math instruction to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Math Instructor creates a welcoming, positive, and productive environment for students and families, delivers individualized instruction, and helps students build confidence and value in the program. Candidates receive training in Mathnasium’s instructional methods. The role also involves tracking student progress, communicating with the Center Manager and staff, and completing operational tasks as needed. The position is in person and part time, with two shifts per week. The posting lists compensation of $17.00–$18.50 per hour and opportunities for growth and leadership development across multiple centers.

Requirements

• Passion for math and working with students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and be trained.
• Math proficiency through at least Algebra I.
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
• High school diploma.
• Availability at least three days a week during the listed hours: Monday–Thursday, 3 PM–7 PM, and Sunday, 12 PM–4 PM.
• Tuesday availability at 3 PM is preferred.
• Must take a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach or tutor in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
• Collaborate with team members to provide individualized instruction in a group setting.
• Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
• Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
• Communicate with the Center Manager and staff about student progress.
• Perform operational functions as required.
