Math Instructor II / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is seeking a passionate, friendly, and enthusiastic Math Instructor to help students learn math. The instructor creates a welcoming, positive, and productive learning environment and provides effective, concise instruction after completing training. The role serves students in grades 2–12 and may involve in-center, online, or hybrid instruction. Instructors work collaboratively with the team, communicate with the Center Manager and staff about student progress, and perform operational duties as needed. The position is in-person and part-time, with two shifts per week; availability is required at least three days a week during the listed schedules.
Requirements
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
- High school diploma.
- Availability at least three days a week; listed availability is Monday–Thursday, 3 p.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Complete a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

- High school math is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach or tutor in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff to assist with evaluating and tracking student progress.
- Perform operational functions as required.
