About The Position

The Materials Specialist manages purchased-parts markets at Exmark in Beatrice, Nebraska. The role includes visually managing inventory levels, communicating potential shortages, maintaining market layouts according to the Plan for Every Part (PFEP), and supporting process changes and continuous improvement. The position works first shift, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and pays $22.24.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with others.
High attention to organization and detail.
Ability to create and follow standard work and procedures.
Previous forklift experience and/or ability to become forklift certified.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 40 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Create and execute visual management of inventory levels in purchased-parts markets.
Communicate potential shortages to cycle counters and/or material coordinators.
Ensure purchased-parts markets conform to the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) layout.
Develop and maintain 5S standards for parts markets, including assisting with standard-work updates, training, and audits.
Update market metric boards daily.
Create and support process changes to purchased-parts markets, including new parts, stock utilization, and identifying obsolete parts.
Perform Kanban card audits.
Assist with the physical layout and implementation of purchased-parts markets.
Handle purchased materials as needed using mobile equipment.
Perform duties safely and efficiently.
Identify and apply Lean methodologies to keep processes scientifically controlled and continuously improved.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
