About The Position

The Materials Specialist oversees the crating process and manages shipping, warehousing, and handling activities for finished Walk-In sections, with a focus on building and managing custom crating solutions. The role is based in Hudson, Wisconsin, reports to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, and has no direct reports. The position is full time, with a first-shift schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Pay is $21–$26 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to plan ahead and anticipate consequences.
• Ability to perform work with concern for personal and others’ safety.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to properly use provided personal protective equipment, including eye protection, hearing protection, half-face and/or powered air-purifying respirators, protective clothing, and fall-restraint harnesses.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime when necessary.
• Availability for training in various duties.
• Consistent or frequent ability to see, hear, read and write, interpret information, and perform basic math, reading, and writing in English.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Pull and package all orders.
• Check orders for completeness and accuracy.
• Operate the stretch-wrapping machine.
• Prepare sections for outgoing shipments.
• Package set-up materials.
• Assist the supervisor in monitoring inventory levels of stock sections.
• Ensure the accuracy of pick lists and work order lists.
• Transfer completed sections throughout the plant.
• Inspect for defects and report them to the Supervisor or Group Leader.
• Maintain housekeeping in the general work area.
• Comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain forklift(s).
• Operate a forklift to move finished panels to the shipping area.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
