About The Position

This role supports Tyson of Springdale, a new poultry processing facility opening in Springdale, Arkansas. Candidates selected for this position will start their Tyson career and complete training at a nearby Tyson facility in Rogers or Springdale, Arkansas. Once the new facility is operational, Team Members will transfer to Tyson of Springdale location in early 2027. This position is responsible for directing, controlling, and coordinating all aspects of Materials Management, Finite Scheduling, Warehouse and Logistics, and SAP Master Data in a manufacturing plant. Functions include production scheduling; materials purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and handling within the manufacturing process; and SAP Master Data support. The role involves managing raw materials, ingredients, and production supplies purchases to maintain 100% supply availability for scheduled production requirements, and managing inventory controls per Tyson Foods finance guidelines. The position is also responsible for SOX Key Controls provisions, Food Defense Plan, SQF Program, and Environmental Regulations associated with raw materials, ingredients, and production supplies in all storage and warehouse areas. The Materials Manager must maintain a motivated team to minimize costs and maximize efficiencies while meeting corporate objectives, manage warehouses and material product handling to minimize product damage, and maximize internal storage capacities in conjunction with public storage requirements. Additionally, the role requires managing proper housekeeping in all facilities, managing safety to meet or exceed all goals, managing offsite warehousing and product movement between warehouses, managing Lean projects to reduce costs and improve efficient operations, and managing SAP as a business transformation tool to reduce costs through improvements in operations and results reporting tools.

Requirements

  • B.A. in Logistics or Business Administration preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 plus years related experience in Distribution or Materials Handling preferred.
  • Standard computer skills including Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Distribution Software.
  • Supervisory experience: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in multiple departments or work units who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Display sound judgment and decision-making, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Responsible use of approved AI tools, including safeguarding sensitive information, adhering to company policies, and validating AI-generated outputs.
  • Ability to integrate AI into daily work, improve efficiency through AI-enabled solutions, evaluate outputs critically, and apply professional judgment when using AI.
