Materials Handler - Materials Management Evening ( M-F 2:30p-11p) 40hrs/wk
About The Position
The Materials Handler is responsible for managing and distributing supplies, equipment, linen, and mail throughout the hospital. The role includes inventorying and stocking supply and procedure carts, assembling and delivering supply and equipment orders, putting supplies away in the Storeroom, and picking up soiled linen and patient care equipment. The Materials Handler also sorts and delivers incoming and interoffice mail, completes inventory documentation, and assists end users of the Materials Management computer system. Training is provided on the computerized inventory system. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Computer knowledge and experience.
- Proficiency using a computer with a Windows operating system.
- Ability to make effective decisions when problems arise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to adapt rapidly to changes in work processes.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse or materials handling experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inventory and stock supply and procedure carts.
- Assemble and deliver orders for supplies and equipment.
- Deliver medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen to areas throughout the hospital.
- Put supplies away in the Storeroom.
- Complete required documentation accurately when issuing or crediting supplies to maintain the integrity of the computerized inventory system.
- Pick up soiled linen and patient care equipment.
- Sort and deliver incoming and interoffice mail.
- Assist end users of the Materials Management computer system.
- Perform other assigned duties and maintain regular, predictable attendance.
