About The Position

The Materials Handler inventories and stocks supply and procedure carts; delivers medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen throughout the hospital; and puts supplies away in the Storeroom. The role also involves sorting and delivering incoming and interoffice mail, picking up soiled linen and patient care equipment, and assisting users of the Materials Management computer system. The position is scheduled for nights on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for 16 hours per week, with a 0.4 FTE status. On-call work is not required.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Computer knowledge and experience, including proficiency with a Windows operating system.
• Ability to make effective decisions when problems arise.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to adapt rapidly to changes in work processes.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse or materials handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and stock supply and procedure carts.
• Assemble and deliver orders for supplies and equipment.
• Deliver medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen to hospital areas.
• Complete required documentation accurately when issuing or crediting supplies to maintain the computerized inventory system.
• Put supplies away in the Storeroom.
• Pick up soiled linen and patient care equipment.
• Sort and deliver incoming and interoffice mail.
• Assist end users of the Materials Management computer system.
• Perform other assigned duties while maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
