Materials Handler - Materials handler Nights Friday & Saturday 10:30p-7a 16hrs/wk
About The Position
The Materials Handler inventories and stocks supply and procedure carts; delivers medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen throughout the hospital; puts supplies away in the Storeroom; and sorts and delivers mail. The role also assembles and delivers supply and equipment orders, maintains accurate computerized inventory records, assists users of the Materials Management computer system, and performs other assigned duties while maintaining regular and predictable attendance. The position is a night shift role scheduled Friday and Saturday from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for 16 hours per week. It is not on-call.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Computer knowledge and experience.
- Proficiency using a computer with a Windows operating system.
- Ability to make effective decisions when problems arise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to adapt rapidly to changes in work processes.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse or materials handling experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inventory and stock supply and procedure carts.
- Assemble and deliver orders for supplies and equipment.
- Deliver medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen to hospital areas.
- Complete required documentation accurately when issuing or crediting supplies to maintain computerized inventory records.
- Put supplies away in the Storeroom.
- Pick up soiled linen and patient care equipment.
- Sort and deliver incoming and interoffice mail.
- Assist end users of the Materials Management computer system.
- Perform other assigned duties with regular and predictable attendance.
