About The Position

The Materials Handler is responsible for inventorying and stocking supply and procedure carts; assembling and delivering orders for supplies and equipment; and delivering medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen throughout the hospital. The role also includes putting supplies away in the Storeroom, picking up soiled linen and patient care equipment, and sorting and delivering incoming and interoffice mail. The Materials Handler completes required documentation accurately when issuing or crediting supplies to maintain the integrity of the computerized inventory system and assists end users of the Materials Management computer system. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

This is an evening position scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. The position is not on-call and does not require weekends.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Computer knowledge and experience, including proficiency using a Windows operating system.
• Ability to make effective decisions when problems arise.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to adapt rapidly to changes in work processes.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse or materials handling experience is preferred.
