About The Position

Caterpillar is hiring a Materials Specialist at its East Peoria Building KK facility. The role performs functions to check, receive, and verify the accuracy of prime product, and to check, store, disburse, or fill orders for parts, materials, tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe environment. The facility manufactures drivetrain components for Caterpillar machines, with an emphasis on safety, quality, teamwork, and excellence. The position is supplemental and requires a minimum of 40 hours per week, with limited benefits available. The first-shift schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Starting pay is $20.40 per hour. No relocation is offered, and the position requires no travel. Employment offers are conditioned on successfully completing a drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Forklift driver certification.
Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15–30 minutes.
Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet from the floor, work in frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat, and bend over for intervals of 15–30 minutes, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Warehouse and/or order-filling experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and report daily receiving and shipping activities.
Safely perform material handling and warehousing functions, including receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
Perform related or specialized clerical duties and resolve discrepancies as required.
Maintain clerical records and use a computer terminal or handheld scanner to access and update receiving, counting, and order-processing information.
Perform housekeeping functions.
Use mobile equipment as required to facilitate job functions.
Report defects and repair needs.
