About The Position

Caterpillar is hiring a Material Specialist at its East Peoria Building KK facility. The role performs a variety of functions to check, receive, and verify prime product accuracy, and to check, store, disburse, or fill orders for parts, materials, tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe environment. The position supports manufacturing of drivetrain components and emphasizes safety, quality, teamwork, and accurate materials handling. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is a supplemental position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, with limited benefits available. Starting pay is $20.40 per hour. The position does not offer relocation and requires no travel. Employment offers are conditioned on successfully completing a drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and forklift driver certification.
Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15–30 minutes.
Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet from the floor, work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat, and bend over for intervals of 15–30 minutes, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Warehouse and/or order-filling experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and report daily receiving and shipping activities.
Safely perform material handling and warehousing functions for receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
Perform related or specialized clerical duties and resolve discrepancies as required.
Maintain clerical records and use a computer terminal or handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing.
Perform housekeeping functions.
Use mobile equipment as required to facilitate job functions.
Report defects and the need for repairs.
