About The Position

Performs engineering work related to investigating and solving technical problems associated with the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft. Applies technical knowledge and judgment, using defined practices and procedures, to address a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works under general supervision on routine tasks of minor complexity and, with supervision or mentorship, may coordinate activities for lower-level engineering staff. The role requires communicating technical concepts in writing and verbally and may involve occasional customer contact on routine issues. Errors or failure to achieve results may delay program schedules or require additional resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
• 18 months of related engineering experience.
• Ability to apply technical knowledge and judgment using defined practices and procedures to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts in writing and verbally.

Nice To Haves

• Related advanced degrees may be credited toward experience, limited to 2 years for a master's degree and 4 years for a PhD in a field applicable to the position.

Responsibilities

• Solve typical engineering problems within the assigned discipline.
• Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to completion of project milestones.
• Be responsible for a complex engineering assignment or a full project of lesser complexity.
• Follow established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments.
• Obtain appropriate supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.
• Apply company and organizational policies and procedures proficiently.
• Work to improve daily processes and ensure work meets customer requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of developments and applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the assigned field of expertise.
• With supervision or mentorship, coordinate the activities of lower-level engineering staff.
• Convey technical concepts in written and verbal formats and handle occasional customer contacts on routine issues.
