Material Prep Operator ($19 per hr)
About The Position
The Material Prep Operator prepares and processes steel and other materials for manufacturing operations. The role includes completing and documenting safety checks on cranes and tools throughout the shift; reading production work orders; verifying incoming material and identifying discrepancies; processing materials with shop equipment; preparing raw-material skids for metal spinning; and performing inspections according to quality procedures and work instructions. Assignments may vary and can include cleaning, sorting parts, and general housekeeping. The position requires safe equipment operation, the ability to read blueprints, and effective communication and reasoning in a fast-paced team environment.

- Ability to operate company computer systems, general hand tools, and shop-floor equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document safety checks on cranes and tools at the start of the shift and throughout the shift.
- Read production work orders to determine the type and quantity of materials required.
- Examine received material, verify part numbers, and identify discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
- Set up and process material on the Circle Shear, Punch Press, Square Shear, and Fiber Laser as required.
- Skid raw material steel by job in preparation for metal spinning operations.
- Perform inspections using Quality Assurance procedures and work instructions.
- Complete changing assignments such as general cleaning, sorting parts, and general housekeeping.
