About The Position

The Material Prep role prepares doors and other materials for painting and special orders. The work includes reading special work orders, selecting the correct product, preparing doors to an excellent condition before painting, cutting and routing materials to specifications, and repairing damaged or defective doors. The employee is expected to meet daily production goals, maintain an orderly work area, report unsafe conditions to the lead, and attend work reliably and punctually. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools, including a shop saw, table saw, router, and air sander.
Product knowledge and ability to read special orders.
Ability to exercise flexibility and good judgment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with reading a measuring tape.
Ability to communicate in English.
Familiarity with part numbers and ability to identify materials.
Prioritize housekeeping to provide a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when requested by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Read special work orders daily.
Pull the correct product.
Prepare doors in excellent condition before they are painted.
Cut and route special-size materials for special orders to the correct specifications using a show saw, table saw, and routers.
Repair defective or damaged doors.
Meet daily goals.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Inform the lead of unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
Maintain regular attendance and timeliness to avoid disruptions in production and customer service.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
