About The Position

The Cell Optimizee - Prep is an hourly associate who prepares, marks, inspects, and packages drill inserts and blades for inventory and coating operations. The role uses automatic and manual laser marking systems, loads and unloads the AMEC wash system, and follows work instructions, inspection plans, and safety procedures. The position reports to the Coating Manager.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of blades, including tolerances, diameters, styles, item numbers, and sizes.
• Experience with MS Windows and associated programs such as Word and Excel.
• Some basic computer programming ability.
• Detail-oriented, with good planning and organizational skills.
• Manual dexterity.
• Able to lift 32 pounds.
• Able to push a 100-pound cart.
• Able to use and read calipers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blades and paperwork for the Coating Department.
• Pack blades for inventory and complete paperwork for hard-lube and diamond coating.
• Glass-blast blades to remove burrs.
• Inspect parts visually and with outside-diameter measuring instruments for quality defects.
• Package blades for external tool coating as needed.
• Mark products using automatic and manual laser marking systems.
• Load product onto appropriate trays, select the correct program, and begin laser marking.
• Put boxes, sleeves, and plastic carbide trays away at the end of the shift.
• Clean and restock the work area at the end of the shift.
• Load and unload the AMEC wash system.
• Access and follow online work instructions and inspection plans.
• Observe and report areas that need attention.
• Maintain quality and efficiency while working safely.
• Report job transactions correctly and complete Non-Conformance Reports for blades that do not meet quality standards.
• Use and care for calipers properly, and read and understand blueprint notes.
• Follow instructions and procedures cooperatively and maintain attendance and punctuality as determined by management.
