About The Position

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to work at its distribution center. The role supports the handling and distribution of building materials in a team-oriented environment focused on safety and quality service. The position pays a fixed wage of $20.09 per hour and follows a Monday–Friday schedule.

Requirements

• One year of or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to use a forklift proficiently and safely to transport products and load or unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times and under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, and similar documents.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve materials through piece picking and/or bulk handling.
• Prepare paperwork required for product distribution and shipping.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the working and assigned areas.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts as requested.
