About The Position

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for its distribution center. The position supports the safe handling, storage, and distribution of building materials, with an emphasis on safety, quality service, and teamwork. The posted wage is $19.10 per hour, and the schedule is Monday through Friday. The role uses safe and reliable machinery and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• One year of recent forklift or warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely and proficiently operate a forklift to transport products and load or unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times and under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, and similar documents.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift in accordance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve materials, including piece-pick and/or bulk orders.
• Prepare paperwork required for product distribution and shipping.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Keep the working and assigned areas clean and orderly.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts as requested.
