About The Position

Friendship is seeking a full-time Material Handler for its South Campus on Starkey Road in Roanoke, Virginia. The role tracks the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, equipment, and supplies used at Friendship, supporting a 253-bed skilled nursing facility. The position provides frontline customer service, manages inventory, coordinates deliveries across departments, and helps address supply and equipment issues.

Requirements

Basic computer skills and familiarity with basic office equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to lift or move items weighing 30 pounds regularly and move items over 50 pounds intermittently with appropriate tools, such as a dolly.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Provide frontline customer service.
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment for a 253-bed skilled nursing facility.
Communicate with vendors to resolve supply and equipment issues.
Receive, record, and deliver parcels to multiple departments throughout the building.
Replenish nursing unit supply rooms weekly.
Perform light troubleshooting of durable medical equipment.
Assist with charging out supplies for billing through the supply charge-capture system.
Disburse petty cash as needed and maintain accurate records of disbursements.
Serve as a backup to Materials - Support Services personnel when needed.
Adhere to purchasing guidelines and schedules.
Maintain inventories and ensure items are transported to appropriate destinations.
Transport confidential documents and items safely and in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
