About The Position

The Material Handler assists with warehouse order picking and generates and fills material requests for various programs and external customers. The role supports forklift operations for order picking and put-away/stocking. Work includes handling warehouse inventory, stocking and pulling materials, packing and boxing devices, physically and systematically transferring items, and completing transactions in automated computer systems. The position requires accuracy and the ability to remain focused and calm under stress in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. The stated shift is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the position is in San Diego, California, for a six-month duration.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Good driving record.
• Previous forklift experience; material-handling experience alone does not satisfy this requirement.
• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehousing.
• Computer skills associated with material warehousing, receiving, and/or shipping.
• Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under extreme pressure.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to sit or stand for 8 or more hours per day.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to use hands and fingers.
• Good near and far eyesight.
• Ability to occasionally lift 25–50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification.
• Experience using hand trucks, pickers, or similar equipment.
• Experience with Oracle, AIMS, MRW, QPI, and Agile.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Two to three years of material-handling or warehousing experience.
• High-level computer experience.

Responsibilities
