About The Position

D.W. Distribution, an SBP brand, is hiring a Material Handler (Forklift Operator) for its Midlothian, Texas facility. The position supports the Pre-hanging/Pre-finishing operation through material receiving, material and product movement, product shipping, and production support. The schedule is second shift, 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. CST.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• One or more years of forklift operator experience.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to follow oral and written communication from a supervisor, lead, or coworker.

Nice To Haves

• Cherry picker experience.
• Computer skills; use of computers is helpful.
• Forklift certification may be helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manually pick and stage the correct warehouse items at the appropriate loading dock location.
• Use a handheld scanner to locate items and move them to the appropriate dock door.
• Move damaged or non-conforming items to the appropriate area for reclaim or return to vendor.
• Operate a forklift and order picker.
• Conduct all activities safely and adhere to company safety standards.
• Inspect products as they are pulled or loaded to meet company quality standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization on the loading dock and in warehouse aisles.
• Work toward team efficiency standards for items pulled without compromising accuracy.
• Assist with unloading or loading trucks when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
