About The Position

Ryder is hiring full-time Material Handlers in Port Deposit, Maryland, to support warehouse fulfillment and distribution of retail items. The role performs a range of warehouse functions, including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, loading and unloading, cycle counting, and forklift operation. Work takes place in clean, organized facilities with a focus on safety and continuous improvement. The position offers weekly pay, paid training, and benefits beginning after 30 days. The listed schedule is FHN third shift: Sunday through Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and every other Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One or more years of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid certified Forklift Operator's License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a diverse work environment.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
• Thoroughness and dependability; punctuality and a good attendance record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure.
• Ability to lift and/or push or pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work using health and safety methods.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule across various work shifts.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent follow-up practices.
• Some positions may require employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check and road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Perform duties within the performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load and unload trucks.
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork, such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for aspects of the automated packing system during the core production shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
