About The Position

IPL Schoeller in Shelbyville, KY, is seeking a Material Handler for the Night Shift. As a Material Handler at IPLS, you will unload all incoming finished goods, raw materials, and accessories. Incoming materials are inspected to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards before being unloaded safely and efficiently. Finished goods are prepared and loaded safely and efficiently, without product damage. Verify production counts and remove production from WIP [work in progress] promptly. A final quality check is performed on all finished goods before being stored or shipped. Preventive maintenance is performed on all forklifts according to the schedule. Equipment problems are reported promptly to the Yard Lead. Comply with good safety and housekeeping practices. Safety hazards are identified and eliminated. Pre-shift inspections are conducted on equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations. Proper housekeeping standards are maintained for the yard. Physical inventories are conducted accurately and regularly. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience as a forklift operator
  • 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing machine-operation environment.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Quality standards
  • Basic math skills
  • Forklift operations
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Forklift Driver Certification
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Adaptable to all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including variable starting times, overtime, and weekends or holidays.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment that requires contact with high noise and heat levels, dust, grease, oil, and other substances.
  • Must follow safe work practices, including required personal protection equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Related work experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
