About The Position

The Material Handler supplies the production lines, and ensures that materials are accurately entered, and delivered on time. This role involves organizing and stocking material requirements for production operations using First In/First Out, ensuring compliance with Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for delivery routes, constructing boxes for parts, checking boxes for proper bar code labels, loading parts to the next stock location and ensuring inventory accuracy in CMS, counting and labeling unused parts, and inspecting/accepting parts per work instruction/process book/procedures to ensure correct quantity, quality, and racking. The position also requires recommending proposals for improving production, processes, systems productivity, and the work environment, while being aware of Safety, Health & Environmental policies and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Employees must know and understand LMV Automotive Systems Quality Policy and follow/support LMV Automotive Systems and Magna’s operating principles, including the Magna Employee Charter, Open Door Policy, 5S, Safety First, company quality and environmental policies, and core values. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work well with others and build positive relationships
  • Ability to meet production requirements
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a material handling equipment license for tow tractors, forklifts, and any additional material handling equipment deemed necessary for the job.

Responsibilities

  • To organize and stock all material requirements for production operations utilizing First In/First Out.
  • Ensure compliance to SWI for delivery routes.
  • Construct boxes for parts.
  • Check all full, acceptable boxes for proper bar code labels.
  • Load Part to the next stock location and ensure accuracy of inventory in CMS.
  • Count and label all unused parts and return to stock area.
  • Inspect/Accept parts per work instruction/ process book/ procedures to ensure correct quantity, quality, and racking.
  • Recommend proposals for improving production, processes, systems productivity and work environment.
  • Aware of Safety, Health & Environmental policies.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment.
  • Know and understand LMV Automotive Systems Quality Policy.
  • Follows and supports LMV Automotive Systems and Magna’s operating principles, including: a.
