Material Handler III
About The Position
Imperial Supplies, a Grainger Company, is hiring a full-time Material Handler III at its onsite Salisbury, North Carolina Distribution Center. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays. The role handles and packages inbound material, including assembling assortment kits, documenting packaging activity, picking orders with powered industrial equipment, putting away carts, restocking picking areas, and assisting with inventory cycle counts. The Material Handler III also works with Quality Control personnel to ensure only authorized, quality goods are packed into stock. The work uses package-labeling systems and printers, automated packaging equipment, scales, tape guns, a mechanical stapler, shrink-wrapping equipment, radio-frequency scanners, and keyboard data entry. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of general knowledge of distribution or manufacturing operations.
- Average math skills.
- Effective reading and writing skills.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to spend most of the time standing and walking in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Package inbound material, including assembling assortment kits.
- Use package-labeling systems and printers, automated packaging equipment, scales, tape guns, a mechanical stapler, and shrink-wrapping equipment.
- Document packaging activity using radio-frequency scanners and keyboard data entry.
- Pick orders using powered industrial equipment.
- Conduct cart put-away and restock picking areas.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts using powered industrial equipment.
- Partner with Quality Control personnel to ensure only authorized, quality goods are packed into stock.
