About The Position

Performs a variety of material handling functions to load, unload trailers and move materials within the plant. Capable of working with inventory control through utilization of ERP/MRP software. Familiar with and capable of using various types of lifting equipment. Required to perform other miscellaneous tasks as supervision deems necessary.

Responsibilities

• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Determines space requirements and position of shipment on trucks.
• Receives incoming inventory into business system and follows company processes to place items into inventory.
• Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded truck doors as needed.
• Inspects equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Posts weight and shipping charges and prepares bills of lading, as needed.
• Maintains and restocks the warehouse or parts cage while adjusting for errors.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific material requirements.
• Obtains and maintains active forklift certification.
• Uses a variety of hand tools and material handling machines.
• Performs cycle counts as required.
• Utilizes scanning devices and technology to process inventory movements within the business system.
• Completes all weekly, daily, and monthly 5S tasks.
