About The Position

Doosan Bobcat is hiring a Material Handler II in Bismarck. The role operates industrial truck equipment with lifting devices to move products, equipment, and materials in a warehouse, storage yard, or factory, and supplies production lines with the materials needed to perform their work. The handler moves levers and pedals to control the truck and lifting apparatus; positions forks or other lifting devices around loads; transports materials to designated areas; and loads, unloads, and stacks materials. The role also includes inspecting lift trucks for safe working condition and following safety rules and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Job-specific skills and safe equipment practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are provided for recurring duties, while detailed instructions are provided for new assignments. Travel is listed as less than 10%.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent qualifications are allowed.
• Ability to read and receive instructions in English.
• Ability to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
• Successful completion of a forklift safety class, written forklift operation test, and an eye exam to check peripheral vision.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through high school or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial truck equipment and lifting devices to move products, equipment, and materials.
• Position forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting devices around loads and transport them to designated areas.
• Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting devices.
• Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices by hand as needed.
• Perform safety checks on lift trucks to ensure they are in safe and proper working order.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Supply production lines with needed materials manually or using power equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
