About The Position

The Material Handler I transfers material manually, using a manual pallet jack, or with a lifting device attached to a hoist, as specified in standard work. The role supports warehouse and production operations by handling, moving, and tracking materials while following established methods, procedures, and safety requirements. The position requires working rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and equivalent qualifications are allowed. The role requires written and verbal communication skills with supervisors and fellow workers at a level normally acquired through high school or equivalent. The stated experience range is 0–2 years. Travel is less than 10%.

Responsibilities

• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering a lifting device attached to a hoist.
• Load or unload materials by hand onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices as needed.
• Load parts manually from warehouse racks, tubs, and/or bins onto trays or rack kit carts.
• Follow the established route through the department to load kit carts.
• Load and unload parts manually from the paint line.
• Perform safety checks on necessary equipment.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Use an electronic scanner to transact material as needed.
• Keep aisles clean and orderly.
• Assist with instructing and training others as requested by a supervisor.
• Complete preventive maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
• Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by management.
