About The Position

Material will manage and internally distribute incoming material for use in the manufacturing process. Employee will work inside and outside of the shop will learn to operate machine as needed. Must be available to work any 2nd shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability in work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to follow safety and procedural rules
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Requires stamina and strength
• Position requires standing majority of the day
• Occasional sitting, frequent walking, climbing of steps and stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Reaching with hands & arms; using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, and tools or controls
• Specific vision abilities include long & short distance sight, depth perception & focusing
• The use of proper PPE is required
• Employees are subject to temperature extremes in non-temperature-controlled environments
• Employees are subject to all weather elements
• Working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, mobile equipment, and other machinery
• Employee is expected to work and cooperate as part of team in order to meet production requirements
• Position is safety sensitive, as it requires working in and around heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts
• Position requires strict adherence to safety policies and use of all PPE

Nice To Haves

• Industrial labor experience, preferred
• Forklift Operation experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify and unload materials/parts and store in inventory
• Identify, draw from inventory and transport material, parts and equipment associated with the assembly of locomotives to and from assembly areas, machines, loading docks and other areas
• Operate industrial forklift to perform material handling assignments
• Inspect and complete reports related to safe operation and maintenance of material handling equipment
• Clean work areas
• Operate recycling equipment
• Clean materials to prepare them for production
• Record operational or production data
• Clean production equipment
• Lubricate production equipment
• Repair production equipment or tools
• Operate grinding equipment
