Material Handler II - (1st Shift)
About The Position
The Material Handler II is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing materials, reagents, instruments, and equipment to meet customer expectations. Duties include receiving, shipping, and inventory/material control, along with manual and clerical work using systems such as WMS to receive or prepare materials for shipment. The role also performs planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting tasks that support manufacturing workflow; coordinates and monitors workflow; assists with scheduling and prioritizing activities in the assigned distribution area; and maintains compliance with relevant local, country, and international guidelines. The role may include fulfillment administration and processes. This position is part of the Shipping and Receiving department in Pensacola, Florida. It reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is an on-site role.
Requirements
- Inventory, problem-solving, and investigating skills.
- Knowledge of SAP, ERP, or WMS.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of FIFO practices.
- Experience working safely.
Responsibilities
- Physically issue materials and supplies requested by internal departments, using manual handling and material-handling equipment safely.
- Pull, climb, push, lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, or reach as required to handle materials.
- Respond to internal customers’ inquiries about material requests, inventory availability, or purchase order receipts within agreed time frames.
- Prioritize job tasks to achieve the daily work plan and address foreseeable issues.
- Receive and ship materials, reagents, instruments, and equipment, and support inventory and material control.
- Perform planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting tasks in support of manufacturing workflow.
- Coordinate and monitor workflow and assist in scheduling and prioritizing activities in the assigned distribution area.
- Maintain compliance with applicable local, country, and international guidelines.
