About The Position

Dervati is seeking a reliable, self-motivated Material Handler to help keep the production floor running by ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time and finished products leave the dock in good condition. The role involves receiving and inspecting goods, moving and storing materials, maintaining accurate inventory and FIFO rotation, and supporting timely shipments. The position follows food-quality, hygiene, and safety programs and helps maintain a clean, safe work area. The Material Handler reports directly to the Production Supervisor and works a 1st shift from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Clear verbal communication skills, including keeping the team and supervisor informed.
• Good math skills for counts, weights, and inventory accuracy.
• Flexibility to switch between tasks and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, carry, and climb with up to 60 lbs consistently, and to bend, stand, walk, sit, and climb frequently throughout the shift.
• Forklift experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods against specifications and paperwork.
• Operate a forklift, hand trucks, and skids to move, store, and load materials safely and efficiently.
• Enter materials and products into the inventory system and maintain First In, First Out (FIFO) rotation.
• Confirm shipping details and special instructions, and expedite shipments to keep production on schedule.
• Ensure products leave the dock undamaged.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, personal hygiene, and safety programs.
• Keep the work area clean and safe by clearing and properly disposing of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
