About The Position

The Material Handler transfers materials manually, with a manual pallet jack, or using a lifting device attached to a hoist, following established standard work. The role also operates sit-down, stand-up, and high-reach lifts. The position works within the department to move, load, and unload materials and parts, maintain safe equipment and work areas, and transact material using an electronic scanner.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent qualifications are allowed.
Experience: 0–2 years.
Ability to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
Ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods.
Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through completion of high school or equivalent.
Travel standard: less than 10%.

Responsibilities

Unload and stack material by raising and lowering a lifting device attached to a hoist.
Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or a lifting device by hand as needed.
Load parts manually from warehouse racks, tubs, and/or bins to trays or kit-cart racks.
Follow the set route through the department to load kit carts.
Load and unload parts manually from the paint line.
Maintain safety checks on necessary equipment.
Perform duties safely and efficiently in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Use an electronic scanner to transact material as needed.
Keep aisles clean and orderly.
Assist in instructing and training others as requested by the supervisor.
Complete preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by management.
