About The Position

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to work at its distribution center. The role supports the handling, storage, and distribution of building materials while following forklift training and safety guidelines and maintaining quality service. The position offers a fixed wage and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Requirements

• One year of recent forklift or warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely and proficiently use a forklift to transport products and load or unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times and under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, and related documents.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve materials, including piece-pick and bulk materials.
• Prepare paperwork required for product distribution and shipping.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the working and assigned areas.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts as requested.
