The Material Coordinator analyzes Authorized Project Stockage Levels (APSL) and recommends revisions to support Mission, Type, and Design Series (MDS)-specific fleets. The role coordinates requisitions, material delivery sequences, in-plant transfers, and the repair, assembly, and transportation of materials to meet production schedules and job-order priorities. It maintains logistics support, identifies supply problems, monitors inventory and work orders, and provides additional Supply Section support as required. The position receives, stores, and issues hand tools, tool kits, replacement parts, shop supplies, measuring devices, and related equipment. It tracks tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for misplaced tools, prepares or maintains inventories, requisitions stock, and stores new equipment. It also identifies tools and equipment, handles freight and stored items, inspects tools and materials for wear, defects, or damage, and reports discrepancies. Work is typically in semi-office, hangar, and/or open surroundings. The job may involve high-noise areas, fumes or airborne particles, electrical-shock hazards, long hours, and exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. The employee may need to observe aircraft in flight, read dials and gauges, identify small objects and hand tools, and use a standard keyboard for email and software applications.
