Material Coordinator

Anduril•McHenry, MS

About The Position

The Material Coordinator is the warehouse-floor owner of material readiness for production. This is a shop-floor role focused on walking kits, staging areas, and kanban racks to ensure scheduled builds have materials available before they are needed. The coordinator works closely with Production to track the build schedule, physically verify kitting status, and maintain kanban and bin replenishment so the production line does not wait for parts. The role also supports accurate material transactions and traceability, organized and audit-ready work areas, and continuous improvement of material flow using Lean and 5S principles. The position requires U.S. Person status because it involves access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a warehouse associate, material handler, or in equivalent floor-based manufacturing or warehouse work.
  • Hands-on experience with kitting, staging, or kanban replenishment in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or similar inventory and warehouse management tools for lookups and transactions; this is a floor-execution role, not a system-administration role.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office or equivalent tools for basic tracking and reporting.
  • Experience with lot, serial, or batch tracking and material traceability.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Walk the production schedule daily and verify that kits for upcoming builds are pulled, staged, and ready ahead of their need dates.
  • Identify at-risk builds early by physically checking shortages against the schedule.
  • Coordinate with Production leads on build-sequence changes and reprioritize kitting and staging accordingly.
  • Stage and deliver kits to the production floor in the correct location, quantity, and condition.
  • Monitor kanban card and bin levels across the floor and trigger replenishment before stockouts occur.
  • Walk kanban routes on a set cadence and physically verify that minimum and maximum levels match system records.
  • Maintain kanban bin locations, labeling, and card integrity, and promptly fix missing or damaged cards and signals.
  • Adjust kanban quantities based on observed consumption patterns on the floor.
  • Perform cycle counts and spot-checks of raw material, work-in-process, and kitted material locations.
  • Receive, put away, and transact material movements accurately and on time.
  • Maintain lot, serial, and batch traceability through proper handling and labeling.
  • Keep staging, kitting, and kanban areas organized, labeled, and audit-ready using 5S.
  • Own the physical flow of material from receiving and the stockroom to the production line.
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries using forklifts and material-handling equipment as needed.
  • Partner with Shipping and Receiving to resolve material delivery delays before they affect production.
  • Identify bottlenecks in kitting, kanban replenishment, and staging layout, and propose improvements.
  • Apply Lean and 5S principles to reduce walking time, handling steps, and material waste.
  • Standardize kitting checklists and kanban visual controls across shifts.
  • Communicate kitting and kanban status to Production and Supply Chain leadership daily.
  • Train and support material associates on kitting standards, kanban discipline, and floor procedures.
  • Immediately escalate shortages with specific information about the part, quantity, and build impact.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
