About The Position

Schedules, plans, and coordinates the flow of work within or between departments to expedite production. This role involves reviewing the master production schedule and job orders, updating status as needed, and overseeing front-end and back-end planners to coordinate and update status in the ERP (Syteline) system. The Master Scheduler is also responsible for generating production metrics, coordinating outside vendor requirements (including pricing, purchase orders, follow-up, and receipt of parts), maintaining performance metrics and cost sheets, managing Kan ban for consignment jobs, assisting with sales requests for milestone plans, and following up on expedite items. Additionally, the role involves generating and analyzing status reports, following up on MRR actions, updating the ship plan, and leading daily meetings. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of supervisors and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
  • 3-5 years related experience training in master scheduling for an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews master production schedule and job orders.
  • Updates status as needed.
  • Oversees, manages, and supports front end and back-end planners to coordinate status and update status in ERP (Syteline) system.
  • Generates metrics for production.
  • Coordinates all outside vendor requirements, including obtaining prices, writing purchase orders, follow up and final receipt of parts.
  • Maintains performance metrics and updates cost sheets.
  • Maintains Kan ban for consignment jobs.
  • Assists with Sales requests for milestone plans and follow up on expedite items.
  • Generates and analyses various status reports to ensure work is proceeding according to plan.
  • Follows up on MRR actions including submittals with customers.
  • Updates ship plan and lead daily meetings.
