About The Position

Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking an on-call Massage Therapist to administer professional massage and body treatments to guests. The therapist should have thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, a general understanding of body treatments, and willingness to train in the spa’s specific offerings. The role requires excellent communication skills and learning the product and service knowledge needed to provide wellness solutions tailored to guests. A current Florida massage license must be maintained. The therapist delivers services according to spa protocols and accepted certification practices, supports guest education and service, and helps maintain the spa’s equipment, supplies, sanitation, and treatment rooms. The position also supports spa operations and training, promotes spa services and products, and works with minimal supervision while contributing to a positive team environment. Work is primarily indoors in a hotel environment where temperatures are controlled by hotel environmental systems. The role requires extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking, and handling objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Requirements

Current massage license in the State of Florida.
At least 1 year of experience in a luxury spa.
Excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Enthusiasm, excellent customer-service skills, and a friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work as a team player and with minimal supervision.
Professional and effective demeanor, maintaining high guest-service standards.
Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations and analyze and resolve guest- or staff-related problems.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, and provide legible communication and directions.
Ability to perform work with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; follow directions; and understand guests’ service needs.
Ability to use a computer keyboard, perform basic typing, and demonstrate moderate to advanced computer skills.
Ability to use sound judgment, cope with unexpected situations, and adapt to a changing environment.

Responsibilities

Arrive on time, be prompt for appointments, and perform services within the allotted time.
Provide professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
Inform and educate guests about wellness concerns.
Adjust scheduling to support the needs of the spa.
Care for equipment and use appropriate amounts of product to support cost controls.
Maintain knowledge of all services and products offered.
Follow applicable sanitation and sterilization laws and spa policies and procedures.
Prepare, clean, and restock treatment rooms as required.
Communicate to management occurrences involving staff or guests that require attention.
Promote the spa, treatments, services, retail products, programs, promotions, and discounts.
Respond to guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously, providing accurate and timely responses to requests.
Work without direct supervision and maintain a positive attitude and quality work environment.
Attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings.
Assist in other areas of spa operations as requested by management.
Cooperate with team members and other departments, anticipate guests’ needs, and maintain professional guest-service standards.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent resort data.
