About The Position

Massage Therapists enhance the spa experience by providing exceptional massage and body treatments using a range of therapeutic approaches. The role calls for a personable, nurturing, and attentive professional with a passion for wellness in a luxury spa setting. Therapists perform services according to Woodhouse treatment protocols, recommend enhancements and products, and work with team members to ensure guest experiences exceed Woodhouse Spa standards. The position requires a current state massage license, compliance with state licensing and continuing education requirements, and availability for a schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation varies by service and is expected to range from $60 to $175 per service, consisting of $35 to $115 base pay plus $25 to $60+ expected gratuity. Additional compensation may be available through retail sales and spa promotions.

Requirements

• Maintain a current massage license in the state where practicing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to assess guests’ needs and wants.
• Exceptional time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently to solve problems in the moment.
• Availability to work weekend, evening, and holiday hours.
• Neat and professional appearance in accordance with the Woodhouse Spa dress code.
• Physical strength to stand for long periods and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest and introduce themselves.
• Prepare guests for services according to treatment protocols and review guest intake forms.
• Perform a combination of up to 7–8 massages or body treatments per day.
• Educate guests about the benefits of services and products used during treatments.
• Offer appropriate enhancements and explain their benefits.
• Recommend retail home-care products and explain how to use them.
• Communicate current spa promotions to guests.
• Allow guests to relax by speaking only when spoken to.
• Document pertinent guest information in guest records.
• Keep treatment rooms and preparation areas organized.
• Follow Woodhouse Spa policies and perform all service offerings and Signature protocols.
• Ensure appropriate lighting, music, cleanliness, and aromatherapy.
• Support team and location needs and communicate with staff and management to help the location run smoothly and on schedule.
• Care for spa tools and equipment and follow safety, sterilization, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain professionalism and discretion and protect the Woodhouse Spa brand.
• Renew licensure before expiration and complete continuing education as required by the state and/or Woodhouse Spa.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
