Mask Layout Designer
About The Position
AMD is seeking an experienced Mask Design Engineer to join its Mask Design Team. The role collaborates with circuit teams to plan and construct designs efficiently and contributes to technology used across AMD’s product portfolio. The designer is expected to deliver high-quality work on schedule, collaborate with and support teammates, and take on challenges. The role includes leading major projects and coordinating resources in the United States and internationally. An associate’s degree in engineering and proven experience with sophisticated mask designs are required; an electrical engineering degree is preferred. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Requirements
- Experience designing sophisticated SRAM digital circuits.
- Experience completing verification and required checks from design start through tape-out using vendor-specific and/or in-house tools.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, willingness to help teammates and take on challenges, and a focus on quality and schedules.
- Associate’s degree in engineering and proven experience working on sophisticated mask designs.
Nice To Haves
- Analog/mixed-signal design experience.
- Experience verifying designs against physical and electrical checks and guidelines.
- Hands-on mask design experience with sophisticated macros and tiles for integration at the SoC level.
- Understanding of DRC/LVS debugging and ability to mentor a design team during technology bring-up.
- Understanding of process nodes currently used in the industry.
- Ability to work closely with teams in the United States and overseas and contribute throughout the design flow.
- Interest in improving tools used by the mask design community.
- Understanding of scripting languages such as Skill, Perl, Tcl, or Python.
- Electrical engineering degree.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with layout and circuit designers to deliver quality designs on schedule and support AMD’s product roadmap.
