About The Position

The Rad Hard Precision Design Group is seeking an experienced mask designer to create top-level and cell-level layouts for its Rad Hard product development team serving space markets. Product development includes power management and precision analog products, digital core layouts, and digital library development for new process variants. The role uses the Cadence tool set and involves interaction with circuit designers, layout designers, and the CAD team. The position is based in either Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, or Palm Bay, Florida.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience working with analog, power, or mixed-signal IC layouts.
• Good working knowledge of IC layout methodologies, flows, and CAD tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso Layout and physical verification.
• Basic understanding of electronic principles related to circuit and layout design.
• Previous experience with BCD and SOI processes.
• Good communication skills.

• Familiarity with device physics.

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple hierarchy levels, from top-level layout floor planning to macro- and block-level routing.
• Collaborate with circuit designers to develop physical design floorplans and create package bond diagrams.
• Create and verify high-performance custom analog and mixed-signal cell layouts.
• Complete physical layout designs while meeting circuit design constraints and requirements.
• Verify physical layout designs against circuit design and process requirements.
• Execute mask data release and archiving.
• Use new tools and methods and work with CAD/CAE teams to improve layout design quality and efficiency.
