About The Position
The Rad Hard Precision Design Group is seeking an experienced mask designer in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, or Palm Bay, Florida. The role creates top-level and cell-level layouts for the Rad Hard product development team’s space-market products, including power management, precision analog, digital core layouts, and digital libraries for new process variants. The designer uses the Cadence tool set and works with circuit designers, layout designers, and the CAD team.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience working with analog, power, or mixed-signal IC layouts.
- Good working knowledge of IC layout methodologies, flows, and CAD tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso Layout and physical verification.
- Basic understanding of electronic principles related to circuit and layout design.
- Previous experience with BCD and SOI processes.
- Good communication skills.

- Familiarity with device physics.
Responsibilities
- Work across multiple levels of hierarchy, from top-level layout floor planning to macro/block-level routing.
- Work with circuit designers to build physical design floorplans and create package bond diagrams.
- Create and verify high-performance custom analog and mixed-signal cell layouts.
- Complete physical layout design subject to circuit design requirements.
- Verify physical layout designs against circuit design and process requirements.
- Execute mask data release and archiving.
- Use new tools and methods and work with CAD/CAE to improve layout design quality and efficiency.
