About The Position

Two River Theater is seeking a Marketing Strategist to join our Marketing & Audience Engagement team. Working hours are generally Monday-Friday, 10AM-6PM, with some availability needed on a limited number of weeknights and/or weekends for presence at events. This is a flexible, hybrid position. The Marketing Strategist reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and serves as a key steward of the theater's voice across marketing and communications channels. This role leads messaging, communications strategy, email marketing, website content, social media strategy, and press initiatives that support productions, institutional priorities, and audience growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator and skilled storyteller who enjoys translating organizational goals into compelling audience-facing campaigns. They are equally comfortable developing big-picture messaging frameworks and crafting channel-specific content, helping ensure a consistent voice across platforms while building meaningful connections between audiences and the work happening on our stages and throughout our organization.

Requirements

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to develop clear messaging strategies for diverse audiences and platforms
  • Experience managing email marketing platforms and audience segmentation
  • Understanding of website content strategy, user experience, and conversion optimization
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning, and audience engagement
  • Ability to interpret marketing performance data and apply insights to future campaigns
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in arts, culture, theater, or live entertainment
  • Experience managing paid media campaigns, particularly paid social advertising
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and website analytics tools
  • Experience working in WordPress or similar content management systems
  • Experience writing press materials and working with media outlets
  • Familiarity with audience development, ticketing, or subscription-based marketing

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key steward of the organization's voice across marketing and communications channels
  • Lead messaging strategy across email, website, social media, paid advertising, and press initiatives
  • Shape audience journeys and communication strategies that drive engagement, conversion, and ticket revenue
  • Build and deploy email marketing campaigns, including segmentation and targeting strategies
  • Manage website content, campaign landing pages, and audience-facing digital experiences
  • Write marketing copy, patron communications, press releases, and media materials
  • Define social media strategy in partnership with the Content Producer
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Marketing to support integrated marketing campaigns and institutional initiatives
