About The Position

The Senior Marketing Strategist is responsible for translating business objectives and product marketing direction into integrated marketing campaign plans and communication strategies. This role defines how marketing materials and campaigns come to life across channels, ensuring alignment between messaging, brand voice, media strategy, audience targeting, and execution. Under the direction of the Director, Creative & Brand Services, this role develops campaign structures, channel strategies, messaging approaches, and editorial direction that guide execution across digital, traditional, social, owned, and earned channels. The Senior Marketing Strategist serves as a senior strategic leader across the marketing team, ensuring all marketing communications align with OnPoint’s brand voice, communication standards, audience needs, and strategic objectives. This role also helps shape audience targeting, segmentation application, and performance-informed campaign evolution by translating audience insights and marketing performance trends into strategic campaign recommendations. The Senior Marketing Strategist plays a key role in evolving campaign and communication approaches over time to improve effectiveness, audience engagement, and alignment with business goals. This role balances campaign strategy development with hands-on editorial leadership, including senior copywriting and copy editing, messaging refinement, and brand voice stewardship across marketing initiatives. The role also serves as a key approval layer for marketing campaigns and communications, helping ensure marketing work is strategically aligned, cohesive, compliant, and reflective of OnPoint’s brand standards. The ideal candidate is a highly strategic and collaborative marketing leader with deep experience in integrated marketing, campaign planning, messaging strategy, editorial direction, audience strategy, and multi-channel communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, integrated campaigns, communications, content development, or related roles
  • Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels
  • Strong experience in copywriting, copy editing, messaging strategy, and editorial direction
  • Experience leading agency relationships and cross-functional campaign development
  • Strong experience in integrated marketing strategy across multiple channels
  • Deep understanding of messaging strategy, brand voice, editorial review, and communication planning
  • Strong understanding of channel strategy, media planning, and campaign development
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and copy refinement skills across multiple marketing channels and formats
  • Ability to translate business goals into clear communication and campaign strategies
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation, messaging adaptation, and communication effectiveness
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across internal teams, agencies, and vendor partners
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on editorial leadership and execution support

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated campaign and communication strategies based on business objectives, audience needs, and organizational goals.
  • Define campaign structure, messaging approach, channel mix, and tactical strategy across paid, owned, and earned media.
  • Translate business and product marketing briefs into clear, actionable campaign plans and communication approaches for execution teams.
  • Lead strategic messaging development and brand voice application across campaigns, marketing communications, and member-facing content.
  • Serve as a senior editorial leader across the marketing team, providing hands-on copy editing, messaging refinement, editorial direction, and brand voice guidance across campaigns and member-facing communications.
  • Guide messaging architecture and editorial direction across marketing channels to ensure consistency, clarity, and effectiveness of member-facing communications.
  • Apply audience segmentation insights and performance trends to refine campaign targeting, messaging approaches, and communication strategies over time.
  • Support annual and quarterly campaign and communication planning aligned with business priorities, audience needs, and organizational goals.
  • Develop hypothesis-driven campaign and communication strategies informed by audience behavior, performance insights, and business objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction on how messaging and campaign approaches should adapt across channels and audience segments.
  • Serve as the primary strategic and messaging lead for agency and marketing vendor relationships, ensuring campaign strategy, messaging, and creative outputs align with OnPoint’s standards and business objectives.
  • Maintain and evolve messaging frameworks, communication standards, and brand voice guidance in partnership with the Director, Creative & Brand Services.
  • Collaborate with creative teams, writers, strategists, product marketing, and external partners to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
  • Partner with the Senior Performance Marketing Analyst to translate performance insights into strategic recommendations that improve campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, and targeting approaches.
  • Continuously refine campaign strategies, targeting approaches, and messaging effectiveness based on audience insights, campaign performance, and evolving business needs.
  • Additional projects, responsibilities, or other duties assigned.
