About The Position

The Pursuits Strategist I is a collaborative marketing professional who applies strategic thinking and marketing knowledge to support the development of high-quality proposals across multiple client types and markets. The role contributes to pursuit planning and execution, leads proposal coordination, develops persuasive client-focused content, and refines messaging to align firm strengths with client goals. The Strategist also supports proposal innovation and effectiveness through content development, coordination, and analysis. Success requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration. The role also calls for a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.

Requirements

• Five years of proposal, marketing, or business development experience in the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field required.
• A valid driver’s license is required if driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into persuasive content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, and CRM or pursuit management systems.
• Solid understanding of proposal strategy, structure, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical, operations, and marketing teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and coordination of proposals from kickoff through delivery.
• Develop persuasive, client-focused content aligned with firm strengths and client goals.
• Partner with project managers and operations staff to refine messaging and differentiators.
• Contribute to pursuit planning, capture strategies, and positioning discussions.
• Ensure consistency in brand voice, proposal quality, and compliance.
