This position will oversee strategic marketing plan creation and execution for Sunshine Ace Hardware, Crowder Bros., and linked brands. This will include driving physical foot traffic and transaction growth by managing store signage, print advertising, local digital/social advertising, company events, public relations, and the loyalty rewards program. The successful candidate will proactively align the marketing budget with inventory positions to maximize gross margin ROI. This position reports directly to the COO and collaborates hand-in-hand with merchandise buyers, product vendors, store leadership, and outside agencies to implement high-impact marketing strategies.

  • Technically skilled in computer applications and performance toolsets: Google Apps for Business (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Photo and Video Editing software (Canva, Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere Pro) and online business applications (Instagram, Google My Business, Facebook).
  • Strong and proven business acumen with deep fluency in retail math (margins, product turns, and traffic trends).
  • Experience in developing marketing or merchandising strategy with a focus on driving traffic.
  • Solid understanding of direct-response mediums and the ability to analyze campaign ROI and cost-per-acquisition.
  • Advanced communication skills, with a proven track record of active listening to uncover the true needs of the customer, the business, and the field teams.
  • Ability to translate complex promotional metrics into clear, compelling, and actionable direction for frontline associates by simply delivering what they need to execute.
  • Strong vendor negotiation and agency management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage many overlapping strategic and tactical to-do lists to ensure accurate execution before the deadline.
  • Possession of a valid State of Florida driver license with a clean driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance carrier standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, oversee, and dynamically allocate the marketing budget to maximize traffic, sales, and profit.
  • Coordinate with ACE Corporate and outside agencies to deploy high-impact broadcast, print, digital, and localized social media campaigns.
  • Partner directly with Merchandise Buyers to build promotions that generate sales.
  • Coordinate and execute advertising co-op programs, managing the accounting for these programs with key vendors to maximize external funding.
  • Create conversion-focused marketing materials, store posters, and point-of-purchase "silent sellers" with clear calls-to-action.
  • Track direct-response campaign effectiveness using transaction counts and loyalty data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and distribute associate promotional "cheat sheets" and brief operational tools to ensure frontline staff are activated, informed, and valued.
  • Event coordination that requires detailed planning as well as the ability to physically assist store and support staff with onsite event execution.
  • Support corporate internal communications, including the company newsletter and the annual meeting.
  • Consistently seek feedback to review the success of marketing programs and adjust assumptions based upon the data received.
