About The Position

Reviews.org is seeking a Marketing Manager to expand its audience reach beyond traditional SEO and diversify its revenue streams. This role focuses on growing organic reach through channels like video, email, and syndication/distribution, and developing new monetization paths for the brand. The Marketing Manager will lead a cross-functional team, collaborate with various departments, and be responsible for creating and executing a long-term marketing roadmap. This is a remote-first role, with a hybrid requirement for those within commuting distance of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience, including experience building channels beyond paid/organic search (e.g., video, email, or content syndication and distribution).
  • A track record of developing new marketing channels or revenue streams from the ground up, not just optimizing existing ones.
  • Experience managing marketing teams and leading cross-functional collaborators.
  • Comfort owning KPIs: defining them, setting baselines and targets, and reporting progress against them.
  • Strong analytical skills and fluency with web analytics and competitive research tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, or similar).
  • Experience with, or strong working knowledge of, revenue models beyond advertising (e.g., partnerships, lead generation, subscriptions, or licensing).
  • Independent thinking and the ability to work with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate performance data into a story for executives and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own audience growth beyond traditional SEO, including building and scaling video, email, and syndication/distribution channels.
  • Be accountable for the reach and traffic driven by these organic channels.
  • Explore and build out new monetization paths for the brand, reducing reliance on single revenue sources.
  • Set the long-term strategy for Reviews.org, including channel mix, campaigns, and priorities, in collaboration with the Managing Director.
  • Prioritize the team's work against the long-term strategy.
  • Build and scale channels outside of SEO (video, email, syndication, content distribution) as durable, repeatable sources of organic traffic and audience growth.
  • Set baselines, targets, and a measurement cadence for each channel to ensure progress toward organic growth is visible and tied to business goals.
  • Partner with editorial and SEO teams to ensure search and non-search channels reinforce each other.
  • Identify and test new revenue opportunities beyond the current model (new partners, products, formats, or monetization mechanics).
  • Build the business case for new revenue streams by sizing opportunities, defining success metrics, and bringing in partners for validation.
  • Balance near-term revenue performance with the longer-term work of building new channels and revenue lines.
  • Report on the performance and forecast-versus-actual of new revenue initiatives, and make decisions on scaling, iterating, or sunsetting initiatives.
  • Lead a cross-functional marketing team (potentially spanning content, SEO, video, email, and design) with a focus on execution, growth, and development.
  • Develop new marketing channels from the ground up, including crafting strategic plans, gaining stakeholder support, and executing with a dedication to iterative improvement.
  • Collaborate with product, compliance, and analytics teams to shepherd initiatives through production and ensure they align with business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for organic reach and new revenue.
  • Set a standard of excellence for the team's output and raise roadblocks early when support from other teams is needed.

Benefits

  • Low-cost, competitive health coverage (domestic partners included!) with employer-paid counseling services.
  • 401(k) matching after two months of employment, with employer matching starting at ~3%.
  • Employer-paid Lifestyle Spending Stipends for physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing expenses.
  • Flexible Time Off: competitive time-off balances that accrue weekly.
  • 2 weeks of paid parental leave during the first year and up to 9 weeks after one year of employment.
  • Generous Paid Holidays: additional flex holidays in addition to company paid holidays.
  • Comprehensive Life Insurance (including coverage for dependents and spouses).
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
